About Us
Communities living in Wajir initiated the concept of establishing the Community Radio (WCR) in 2005 but construction started in
October 2007 and officially launched in May 2010 as a nonprofit making entity to empower the voiceless community Members.
World Bank through Arid lands Resource Management project II supported the establishment of the radio as members of
communities donated 10 acres of land.
Wajir Community radio is registered as a community radio under the communication commission of Kenya.
