Our Programs

At Wajir Community Radio, our programs are more than just broadcasts — they are lifelines of information, education, and empowerment for the pastoralist communities of Northern Kenya. Our content is rooted in real community needs and is delivered in languages that our people understand. From peace and governance to climate adaptation and education, we give voice to the voiceless.

Peacebuilding & Governance

We foster peaceful co-existence through programs focused on conflict resolution, extremism prevention, and holding leaders accountable. Our shows promote justice, good governance, and paralegal awareness in rural communities.

Climate Change & Environment

Through partnerships with organizations like IIED and Mercy Corps, our climate-focused programs cover drought early warning, sustainable water use, and livestock health. We equip pastoralists with tools to adapt and thrive in a changing environment.

Education & Nomadic Learning

Our educational programs support both children and adults, especially those in nomadic settings, by delivering on-air lessons, literacy training, and civic education. We help ensure no learner is left behind.

Women & Girls Empowerment

WCR provides a powerful platform for women and girls to share their stories, advocate for rights, and gain access to vital information on health, leadership, and economic opportunities.

Youth Voices

Our youth-led shows give young people a space to express themselves, showcase talent, and lead conversations on employment, education, social change, and innovation.

Livestock & Pastoral Livelihoods

These programs highlight traditional and modern practices for livestock production, animal health, market access, and improving the economic wellbeing of pastoralist families.

Health, Sanitation & Public Awareness

We tackle key public health issues such as clean water, sanitation, hygiene practices, maternal health, and disease prevention, especially in remote and underserved areas.
